On Thursday evening, June 16, the WTHS awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Kristen Bridges at the West Morris Central Senior Awards Assembly. Kristen will attend The College of New Jersey in the fall and plans to major in history and international studies.
Enthusiastic and passionate, she has already acquired an impressive academic and extra-curricular resume. Kristin is a National Honor Society member, a high honor roll student, an International Baccalaureate candidate, as well as, a four-year member of the WMC History Club, a four year varsity letter recipient on the Fencing Team and this past year’s team captain. She has volunteered for two years as a docent to the Society’s annual Historic House Tour, in addition to three years involvement as both a camper and counselor with the Alexandria Archaeology Camp in Alexandria, Virginia, at Fort Ward, a Civil War fort and African American Community. Kristin has already served as a summer intern at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, in addition, to a full slate of service projects at WMC.
The Society has been awarding scholarships to local students for over twenty years and wishes Kristen Bridges great success in her studies.
